IPL- Rajasthan Royals SWOT Analysis

 In the series of SWOT analysis, the final and eighth team is Rajasthan Royals. The winner of the inaugural edition hasn’t consistent after that. In all the previous seasons RR hardly managed to qualify for the semis.

 STRENGTHS

 

The strength of RR is their overseas players, these players are the pillars of the team. Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Steve Smith. 

All these players have enough experience at both International and IPL level. With Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa, and David Miller teams batting looks very solid.

 

Also, the team has good young spinners which will be going to be very helpful for them in the UAE. Shreyas Gopal has been very consistent for the Rajasthan team in the past two seasons,  he can easily be a threat to the opposition.

WEAKNESS

 

The team does not have the proper balance in their bowling department. With many of their players are completely new to this level like Kartik Tyagi who was the part of the recent U-19 squad.

Jaydev Unadkat and Varun Aaron are the only players who got plenty of games under their belt but both are very inconsistent especially the former who haven’t played many games in the previous seasons.

OPPORTUNITY

It’s a good chance for all the youngsters in the RR squad to get some games and prove why they are here. Riyan Parag the find of the last season for Royals can again prove himself and grab some attention.

Same goes for U-19 world cup star Yashaswi Jaiswal who became the talk of the town at an early age. He can also show why he is the next big thing in cricket.

THREAT

 

The overdependence of Royals on their foreign players. The team is very much dependent on them to win matches. If any Injury occurs to them, then management does not have any backup options for them.

                             

Also, the unavailability of Ben Stokes is a worry for them. A player like Stokes has the calibre to change the fate of game on his own. If he misses out then it would be a big problem for the RR camp.
