A series of belief, fight and history.

In the world of sports, whenever any player of any team gets injured, he/she is replaced with another player easily. But during this time of the pandemic rules have changed as the player needs to be quarantined for some period before coming as a replacement.

But, have you ever thought when you are playing one of the giants of a sport and nine of your players get injured between mid of the series? And with this quarantine rule, what would you do?

In the misery year of 2020, there was something to cheer about for cricket fans, and that thing was India's tour of Australia. But before the beginning of the Test series, many cricket experts believed that it will be going to be 4-0 for India.

Some said that the Indian team only managed to win in 2018-19 tour because the Australian team was playing without their big players. But this time they don't stand a chance, they are going to lose the series.

And then came the first test of the series. The historical pink ball test match in which the Indian team was outplayed in every department of the game by Australians. Indian team scored their lowest test score of 36 runs. In the end, Australia easily won the game.

After that miserable game, people are believing that what experts had said is right. Hopes of the Australian team was very high.

Then came the second match of the series, Indian playing without their regular captain Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami who got injured during the previous match.

Many believed this match will also be going to be a replica of the last one but stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane had different plans. Rahane scored a ton and lead the team from the front. With his heroic innings, he managed to secure a victory for his team.

But this victory came at a cost again another speedster getting injured. This time it was Umesh Yadav. After levelling the series with the host, all eyes were on the third test at SCG. With both team eager to win the game to get a series lead.

The third test between both the giants ended in a historical draw. Hanuma Vihari and R. Ashwin played innings of their life. Indian team managed to secure a draw from the jaws of defeat. Visitors displayed a tremendous game of cricket. 

Now the tables have been turned, it was the not the same team India who was bundled out for few runs. Now the momentum has shifted.

But this game resulted in giving the team a few more injuries. In this match, as many as five Indian players got injured leaving the team with no options but to add the net bowlers into the main team.

Then came the last match of the series. One team who is playing at their fortress Gabba where they have not lost a game in 32 years, with their full strength.

And the other team, who has lost as many as nine players due to injury and is playing with a bowling line-up who has combined experience of just 3 test matches.

On the last day of the final test, Team India was chasing a big target of 328. According to many experts, all three results of the win, lose, and the draw was possible.

But this new Indian team is not ready to settle for anything less than a victory. Shubhman gill, Rishabh pant, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, T. Natrajan played fearless cricket and keep the scoreboard ticking and not to forget the contribution of the new wall of India, Cheteshwar Pujara who stood at one end and make sure no more wickets fell.

This combined effort from these young players helped the team India to breached the Gabba fortress and rewrote the history. Indian team won the series 2-1. 

This series showed the character and future of the Indian team. A team who is not scared to face any team whether they have their main players or not. They showed what they are capable of and how the future of Indian cricket is looking.

Playing a series which according to experts you are going to lose, Nine of your players getting injured midway during the series, getting out to the lowest test total but still managed to change the fate, that's the new team India for you.
